Mental Health Elder Care Clinician Program (ECCP)

The Vermont Elder Care Clinician Program is a service provided to help older adults who experience mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.

Any older adult aged 60 and over experiencing a mental health concern that interferes with their daily life may be served.

Elder Care Clinicians include social workers, psychologists, qualified mental health professionals, and mental health outreach workers. Psychiatrists may be part of the treatment team for consultation and prescribing and monitoring medications. An Elder Care Clinician will work with an individual to develop a treatment plan and can meet with people either in their home or in an office setting. The frequency and duration of treatment depends upon individual needs.

This program is a joint initiative of Mental Health Services and the Division of Disability and Aging Services (Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living).
